Volunteer Opportunities
Small ways of helping can have a big impact. All volunteers are required to become and remain SafeParish™ trained and certified in order to participate directly with our students. It is the responsibility of the volunteer to remain compliant in order to volunteer or participate directly with any child in any classroom setting/grounds.
SafeParish™ in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati
The 2023 Archdiocese of Cincinnati Decree on Child Protection is in effect for all entities in the diocese.
According to the Decree on Child Protection (2023), all employees and regular volunteers must register with the SafeParish platform, submit to a background check, and be approved by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati before having contact with children. Continuing education sessions are required via email on a quarterly basis.
Anyone who does not complete their quarterly continuing education session may not have any further contact with children. All leaders of each Archdiocesan institution, (i.e. pastors, principals, etc.) are responsible for enforcing this SafeParish™ policy.
In addition, all employees within the Archdiocese of Cincinnati must be fingerprinted, complete a B4 Form, and be approved by the Office of Safe Environment for the Protection of Children and Youth before the new employee can have contact with children.
FINGERPRINTING & FEES
As part of the Decree, employees and volunteers must also submit to a criminal background check. Volunteers are required to complete the background check (one time only) online with Selection.com from within their SafeParish account. Only teachers, clerics, and staff will need to be fingerprinted.
The cost of the background checks are $25, payable by credit card.
Reporting Abuse
If you or someone you know has been abused at any time by an agent of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati (priest, deacon, employee or volunteer), the Archdiocese urges you to report the abuse to the Ministry to Survivors of Abuse Coordinator at 513-421-3131 or 1-800-686-2724 as well as to the secular legal authorities.

If you are a new employee or volunteer, please register for your SafeParish™ account and complete your background and training requirements.
